=======HOW TO APPLY MODS TO YOUR HALO!=======
Step 1: If the file you downloaded is in .ZIP or .RAR file format, you need to open the ZIP or RAR file and extract the file (which SHOULD be a PPF file) to your Desktop.
Step 2: Download PPF-O-Matic, which is used to apply mods to Halo. Download it HERE.
Step 3: Extract the files contained within the Zip file you just downloaded to a folder on your Desktop, or anywhere else easy to find.
Step 4: Now to back up your files. You must do this in case you install a mod which you don\'t like anymore, and want to go back to the original game without having to re-install. Navigate to your Halo MAPS folder, which should be located here : C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS. Now, once your in that folder, right-click on a blank bit of the folder, and select "New Folder". Rename this folder to something like "Backups". Now, select all the files in the MAPS folder (but NOT your "Backups" Folder) Once you have the files selected, RIGHT-CLICK and select COPY from the list. Then de-select the files, right-click on your Backups folder and select Paste. Due to the size of the files you are copying, this may take a few minutes.
Step 5: Once this has completed, it\'s time to open up your PPF-O-Matic program. Once you have it open, you will see 2 white boxes next to the words "ISO" and "Patch". On the right hand side of these boxes is an image of a floppy disk. Click the floppy disk next to the "ISO" box. Now, browse to the file you want to apply the mod to. For a skin mod, this would be "BITMAPS.MAP". For a level mod, this would be "[insert level name here].MAP". Select your file and click OK. You should see the path for the file in the white box. Now for the mod. Click the floppy disk next to the "Patch" box. Browse to the .PPF file on your desktop. Select it, and click OK.
Step 6: This step is probably the simplest of them all. Simply click "Apply". Some text will appear in the grey box underneath the apply button.
You\'re all done! Launch up your Halo and enjoy your mod!!
To un-install the mods, go to your "Backups" folder, right-click the file you want to restore, select Copy then go back to your MAPS folder and right-click and press Paste. You must over-write the existing file in your MAPS folder.
Now you don\'t have the mod installed anymore
Enjoy playing the wonderful mods on this site!!
